What is healing prayer?
Healing prayer is a healing encounter with God through Christ as led by the Holy Spirit to seek God’s truth in breaking down barriers of anger, fear, shame, and addiction while bringing healing and new life. The root of the things hindering a deeper personal relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and other relationships are healed.
Healing prayer is not counseling
We do not give advice. We rely on God to reveal truth. All of our pastoral staff have experienced a healing prayer session and would be glad to answer questions.
Who facilitates healing prayer at 2nd Street?
Mike and Jan Cain work as a team in the healing prayer ministry at 2nd Street. For many years, Mike has felt a leading from the Lord to pray for people to remove blocks to a deeper relationship with God. He has gone through extensive training, reading, practicing, and praying and now feels released to minister in this capacity. Jan has also received training in healing prayer. Jan has been a therapist for over a dozen years, working both in agencies and in private practice. Her heart’s desire is for healing of trauma and supporting people in freedom from guilt and shame. The majority of her continuing education has been in building healthy relationships, trauma work, and teaching positive parenting skills that both promotes a richer relationship while coaching of strategies for behavior management.
